If you store your Mavic Air for long time, your Mavic Air might be put in sleep/failed mode. Once it’s in this this mode, a flag in the battery turn on , this flag will prevent you to charge. Unfortunately, it’s not reset itself if you try to recharge.
There are some easy solution, i found this one is useful.
I will not go all over the steps that it’s already covered in the video, i just share my experience.
– After connecting all the cables, the software was still unable to read my battery info
Why? it’s because my battery was too low. If you follow the steps in the video, you will need to drill the battery, luckily there is another easy way ,
- If you able to read the battery info and Unseal it, but it’s sealed again after a few seconds , it’s because one battery cell is less than 3v. You can see which cell in the info data
In case you have a cell less than 3v, you need to apply direct charge to the battery. This video can help you how to open the battery without drilling
To bring the battery up to at least 11v, you need a battery charger. I don’t have a specific one so i have a car rapid charge ( i bought from Walmart for about $15). I apply it to charge, i only charge it for about a minute. After a minute, i see the voltage go upto 11v. I disconnect and go back the 1st step to Unseal the battery, it works perfectly.
To summary, in other to unseal the battery you will need:
- Your battery voltage must have at least 11v, if it’s lower than that, you will need to charge it directly.
- When your battery is too low, you need to provide some voltage so you can read the battery info
- Check the battery info to see which cell is not good.
